Great crime drama to kickstart the year in film. Some great lines delivered poorly give room to a couple of cringey moments, but the dreamy sequences and amazing score make up for it.
😷 Had the joy of spending the last week of the year mostly sick in bed watching movies. I’m still recovering and dealing with a terrible cough, but hey… Happy New Year!

Found my new favorite Christmas movie!
We finished watching Netflix’s adaptation of García Márquez’ One Hundred Years of Solitude (Cien Años de Soledad) last night.
While watching I often asked myself “how will they achieve this or that? It simply won’t translate!” only to be blown away a couple of minutes later.
I grew up hearing my uncle repeat over and over that every Colombian needs to read the book once a year so I had to read it a couple of times. I would say even the literary purists need to watch this. Faithful adaptation and amazing production. It is undoubtedly the most colorful history lesson to the country and a visual masterpiece in magical realism.
