I instinctively mistrust any service that offers to describe an image for you – to automatically generate alt text, for example. Firstly, this implies that describing images – and by extension, making your article understandable to people using AT – is a problem. More fundamentally, it’s impossible to just “describe” an image. All seeing involves interpreting and conveying something beyond the image – it’s not the same as summing a column in a spreadsheet.

It’s 22 years and 2 kids since Ipswich Town – winners of the old First Division in 1962, the FA Cup in 1978 and the UEFA Cup in 1981 – played in the Premier League. It’s 24 years since I watched them beat another Yorkshire team 4-2 at Wembley to get promoted. This is the day.
I’m happy for you, Leon. Must be amazing to experience 2 promotions in 2 years! I’m looking forward to following Ipswich next season in the EPL. Good luck staying up or why not, even reaching those new Europe spots 💪🏽

The iPhone SE (first generation) was also my favourite phone – tiny and no camera bump – but I didn’t try and get a new one when the battery failed. I should have. Also, SEcore should be a genre.
I think the original SE is one of the best iPhones Apple has made. Been using it for so long that I can’t imagine myself using another device. I’m so lucky to own 2 now and since it turns out one of them just needs a charging port replacement hopefully I can switch back in a few more years! And of course, sign me up for SEcore! 😅

…And people ask me why’d I switch from Android back to iPhone all the time. Because longevity and ease of getting a battery replaced or screen repaired anywhere in the world vs. some other brand. Same thing with Macs. iPhones work the same in Japan, America, Europe, Africa, China. Pluto, Alpha Centauri, Neverland, Narnia…

I actually discovered later that all the old iPhone needed was a charging port replacement. So I might switch back to it once the current one fails me 😅 but that might take a few years 🤞🏽

I love webmentions. I love the concept of them and I love how they allow for high-quality conversations and sharing. I’m just sometimes tired of high quality stuff, you know?
