I love webmentions. I love the concept of them and I love how they allow for high-quality conversations and sharing. I’m just sometimes tired of high quality stuff, you know? Sometimes, all I want is to comment on someone’s post to say « lol » or « nice thanks for sharing » or « saaame! » and that’s not something that warrants a whole blog post and entry in my RSS feed. Do you use their android app?if you do, did you allowed phone notifications access?

No, I don’t use any of their apps or “scrobble” directly to the service. I use the website to import Last.FM data and manually check the weekly discovery playlists. But why? Is there something fishy about the permissions or something?

Technology-wise, all webmentions do is send a message of 'I linked to your page'. There is nothing in technology to say that you need to do anything with this - either displaying or checking it.
