My status updates, notes and quick thoughts.

Been falling behind with the 2002 album releases, but I’ve really enjoyed “And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow” by Weyes Blood recently.

Whenever I get a notification for an iOS update I think it’s the last one my iPhone SE will get. With only 16 GB of storage I have no space for “various security fixes” anymore but in 6 years this device has yet to let me down. I guess iOS 15.5 does justice to this excellent piece of hardware.

@leonp Absolutely agree! I tried making a Top 5 but found it impossible. PBL gets top spot just because once I listened to "Smile", I was hooked.

I still haven't checked the last couple of albums. I know I'll like them though, as John Peel puts it they all are "always the same, always different."

💭

@leonp I didn't know was a thing! Let me jump in with my most played track by them: Mountain Energei from The Real New Fall LP thefallmusic.bandcamp.com/trac

The Fall is also one of the bands that got me through the pandemic. I wrote a short review (in Spanish) about Perverted by Language, my favorite album and introduction to their incredible catalog.

If you had to choose just ONE album by them, which one would it be?

"Oh yes, tell me again about your moral superiority based on not watching a tournament taking place in a country with a long history of human rights violations and how much you enjoyed watching it 4 years ago..." 🤐

The Old Man strikes again.

Tumblr is the social network I have used the most in my life. Even though I stopped using it last year it will always have a special place for me. Almost a decade ago someone liked my post on Tumblr, we spoke for years in the platform and well, even though we lived in different continents, last month we moved in together.

I used Tumblr for the last time in August last year, I decided to delete my blog there because (at least in every connection I tried in Colombia) everything was unbearably slow and there was an ad like every second post in my Dashboard. I honestly thought Tumblr’s death was near, but around the same time Automattic took over and they’ve been improving it ever since. First they added improved IndieWeb support and today Matt Mullenweg announced they’re adding ActivityPub support. This is HUGE.

Over 400 (500?) million users will be joining the Fediverse. Is Tumblr about to start the Open Web Revolution?

If this won’t do it, I have no idea what will then.

💭

Inspired by FollowLists, I added a Following page on my website. It’s simple and rudimentary but serves its purposes: owning my Follows. Since it’s powered by the Mastodon API there’s room for integration with other services, but for the time being, it’ll work just as a Blogroll.

💭

I’ve been testing the waters of the Fediverse on and off since learning about the IndieWeb. I’ve tried a couple of Mastodon instances, syndicating to Bridgy + Fed and more recently a @micro.blog account.

With the recent increase in activity thanks to pElon, I’ve finally settled on a main ActivityPub profile: @kandr3s@kandr3s.co

But until I can send “following activities" from GoBlog I signed up for an account @indieweb.social to follow all the interesting people I come across on the Fediverse and read them via RSS feed.

For the first time since joining I did an #introduction. I’m hoping to interact with more people on the open web and eventually move the whole operation to a single profile 🤞 the IndieWeb way.

💭

For anyone following this feed sorry if it’s been (and will be) spammy. We also run tests on production here just so we can walk on the wild side… 😅

💭

@kandr3s@im-in.space this post also tests M.b and ActivityPub replies from my website 🤞
